Editing + streaming build — Ryzen 7 7700, RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, 64GB DDR5.
Published 2026-04-25
Creators need different priorities than gamers — more cores, more RAM, more VRAM. We sacrifice ~10% gaming fps for 2× the multitasking headroom.
The build
| Part | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | Ryzen 7 7700 | 8C/16T, includes Wraith Prism, 65W TDP runs cool |
| Motherboard | MSI B650 Tomahawk WiFi | 4 M.2 slots — creators run out of storage fast |
| RAM | 2×32GB DDR5-5600 | 64GB matters for 4K timeline scrubbing + browser tabs |
| GPU | RTX 4060 Ti 16GB | 16GB VRAM beats 4070’s 12GB for AI/video work |
| SSD | 1TB Gen4 + 4TB SATA | Active project on Gen4, bulk archive on SATA |
| PSU | 650W 80+ Gold | Corsair RM650 — quiet semi-fanless mode for editing |
| Case | Fractal Pop Air | Three included fans, dust filters, ATX |
| Cooler | Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE | ₹3.5k, silent at 7700’s 65W |

Why this is not a gaming build
- 64GB RAM over 32GB — Premiere/Resolve cache scales with RAM
- 16GB VRAM over 12GB — Stable Diffusion, AI upscaling, 8K timelines
- 4060 Ti 16GB > 4070 12GB for creators. Reverse for pure gaming.
What to skip at this tier
- DDR5-6000 CL30 — creators don’t need tight latency, capacity wins
- X3D CPUs — 96MB cache helps games, not Premiere
- RGB everything — case fans should be quiet first, pretty second
Upgrade path
Add a second 4TB NVMe in 6 months when prices drop, then jump to RTX 5070 when it lands. Platform survives all of it.
